TKN prides itself on providing a smarter, more thought provoking improv show. With "FUN" being their mantra and goal for the knuckleballers ask the audience to sit shotgun as they embark on adventures on unknown destinations. In the time between taking the suggestion to final blackout , TKN strives to entertain the house as well as themselves.
After debuting at
Waffle Fest
a few years back, they quickly became one of Austin's most exciting and anticipated troupes.
Austin's The Knuckleball Now was born one night in October 2004, when the Boston Red Sox began their historic comeback against the Yankees (down three games to none) which lead to an eventual World Series Title. Their love for baseball was great, but their love for performing improv was even greater. TKN was founded by
David Modigliani
(Harvard's
Instant Gratification Players),
Mike D'Alonzo
(Gravy, Austin TheatreSports, Catch 24, Players to be Named Later),
Cubs fan
Craig Kotfas
(Gravy, Austin TheatreSports, Catch 24, We Could Be Heroes),
and
Mike Dolan...
Mike Dolen (who will always be missed) soon gave way to
Michael Joplin
(
Available CupHolders, Gravy).
Mike D'Alonzo then moved to LA in the Spring 2006, but returns annually for shows at the Annual "Out of Bounds Improv Festival" in Austin.
In the late summer of 2007,
Lee Eddy
joined, bringing her tremendous talent and positive attitude, where she easily blended in right away.
TKN has peformed in LA this past spring, and is a staple in the annual Out of Bounds improv fesitval in Austin.
Not afraid to touch upon political topics, or comment on society, TKN strives to make you think, make you laugh.. make you realize that there's more to life than work and bills, all the while making themselves feel the same way.
There is no moment like Now... The Knuckleball Now. IMROV COMEDY. NO SPIN!
